Va-Va Voom Velvet

Newsflash, velvet is back. Whatever hue you choose, velvet adds an element of richness, mystery, and drama. This understated fabric is an easy way to add a touch of classic luxe to your wedding in details both big and small. Incorporate velvet into your theme by utilizing it in ribbon around your bouquet or even in invitation cards. Looking to make an even bigger statement? Dressing your groom or bridesmaids in lavish velvet is sure to impress.

One of the biggest weddings to kick this season off was that of Safiya Nygaard & Tyler Williams – who in Youtube vlogger style, vlogged every step of the behind the scenes process. While Safiya went for an elegant lace dress, Tyler wore a classic black velvet tux.

Micro Weddings

Over the years, movies and television shows like The Bachelor, have changed the way we perceive weddings. Weddings used to be an elaborate and costly affair to entertain hundreds of people you hardly knew, sometimes putting your guests happiness before your own. Luckily, things are shifting and downsizing in 2020 with the rise of micro weddings! Just take Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin for example. The Bieber’s to-be recently celebrated their nuptials at a resort right here in the Carolinas! Although the Montage Palmetto Bluffs Resort has a sprawling 20,000 acres, the young couple had a guest list of just 154 — proving that smaller, more intimate weddings can be just as meaningful.

Going Green

With so much emphasis on the environment and global warming as of late, couples are starting to make more eco-friendly selections during the wedding process. From food to decor, there are so many ways to make planet-friendly choices. Start by avoiding single-use service wear,  instead rent table settings and glassware that can be reused. Leave a legacy behind by using seeded papers for all your stationary. Small details like using paper straws, working with florists who don’t use floral foam, repurposing florals, and choosing not to serve water in plastic bottles to guests, are just a few more steps that can be taken to make your carbon footprint smaller.

Cute Buttons Gift and Paper Boutique is the perfect local vendor to help you create an eco-friendly experience at your wedding!

As many of us gals can attest, engagement shoots seem to be on the rise and getting more creative all the time. In 2020, engagement shoots are becoming more personalized, capturing special moments of the bride and groom to be. Shoots no longer consist of a happy couple with a pretty backdrop. Now engagement shoots have elements of style, travel, personality and more.

Spiritual Synchronicities

With the growth of mysticism, astrology, reiki, crystals and more becoming mainstream, it’s no surprise that these supernatural elements are finding their way into weddings. Think crystals, palm readings, aura booths, tarot card readings, sage and more to really bring in the vibe.

Have one of our preferred planners help you create that level of mysticism and magic you desire!
