Out and about with the Hilton Durham near Duke University

Road Trippin’ hit the road again…this time with Antwanne Best and Rachel Radcliffe from the Hilton Durham near Duke University.Exterior - Dusk

We started off going for lunch at BlackFinn Ameripub in Morrisville. This yummy restaurant hosts smaller events and is also a great option for a rehearsal dinner if you are getting married at the Hilton Durham near Duke University.

This Hilton is not just any Hilton, though. When I sat down to Antwanne and Rachel to learn more, my first questions was “What separates your hotel from other hotels and venues in the area?” The answer was simple; they are the only full service Hilton in Durham. With a full restaurant, bar, room service, banquet services, shuttle, dry cleaning, pool, hot tub, and 10,000 square feet of event space, there is nothing they can’t handle.

Trinity BallroomNo matter what size your wedding is, The Hilton Durham near Duke University has a ballroom to fit any need/want. From an intimate 50 person event in the Trustee ballroom to a 270 person event in the Trinity ballroom, Antwanne and Rachel make sure that they can accommodate whatever you dream up. One of the things that I really love about this venue is the fact that their menu can be completely customized to your liking. Their chefs are from all different backgrounds so if its not on the menu and you want it…they will make it happen.

Conveniently located right off 15/501 and i85, this Hilton sits nestled between Duke University, NCCU, and UNC — all of which are within 10 miles of this stunning hotel. Now I know it sounds crazy to say that a Hotel is stunning, but after a recently completed, full $9 million renovation, it truly is a sight to see! The chandeliers in the ballrooms really bring an elegant but modern feel to the room.

One final tidbit that I found interesting was the story behind the name. Originally named just the Hilton Durham, it created some confusion with another Hilton Hotel nearby. So, with this hotel being so close to the University, the name was changed to Hilton Durham near Duke University to differentiate them from the other hotel. Don’t let the name fool you though, you don’t have to be a Duke fan to fall in love with the venue, or with the attention that Antwanne and Rachel give to each and every client!
