Brides lined up inside the Jim Graham Building at the NC Fairgrounds on Sunday, May 1st for the 2016 Spring Southern Bridal Show and Expo. The excitement and anticipation of fun filled the room as they waited at registration to get checked-in and receive their gift bag equipped with a wedding organizer and a few other goodies.
As the hands on the clock finally read 11 a.m., the doors opened to reveal a glimpse of what awaited them. Our brides quickly spread out to peruse the variety of booths and talk to our vendors, which ranged from photographers and DJ's to event planners and venues and more. Questions were asked, giveaways signed up for, and wedding planning arrangements made and checked off the list.
In contrast to previous shows, this year's event saw a change in the layout of the booths. The open concept introduced this year included many corner spaces and intersecting aisle ways. Not only was there extra room to walk around, but our vendors enjoyed the added space and visibility.
As always, our brides loved the fashion show—the centerpiece of the event. The stunning wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses this year were courtesy of Bridal Boutique of NC and David's Bridal, modeled by the lovely ladies from Models for Charity. VIP Formalwear and Men's Wearhouse also lent us their tuxedos and dapper models for the show as well. Also a big thank you to Knot's and Such and Creative Touch Designs for their amazing floral designs. And what's a show without our mother-daughter dance-off? These ladies know how to dance and brought their A-game! We also wouldn't have such great fashion shows without our amazing emcees, Jason Huggins from Stylus DJ's who hosted the 12:30 p.m. show, and Eric Hodgden from All Around DJ's who hosted the 2:30 p.m. show.
As this season's show has come to a close, we have enjoyed working with all of our great vendors to make wedding planning fun and easier for our brides. We also want to thank our brides for making this another bridal show to remember!
